Mineral Point is an artists community of historic 1840s stone buildings encircled by scenic wooded hills and small dairy farms.

Shake Rag Alley, a non-profit arts education organization, is a cluster of quaint log and stone buildings around an ancient spring surrounded by trees and lush vegetation.

Shake Rag Alley is a short walking distance to working artists studios, galleries, bookstore, shopping, a small cheese factory, railroad museum, and downtown restaurants, including a microbrewery and a coffeehouse.

The Shake Rag Alley complex includes 9 historic buildings including a coffee and gift shop, an 1840's Coach House which offers 3 guest rooms with private baths, an 1832 log cabin (the oldest structure in Mineral Point), and a blacksmith shop.
